Wednesday

From mom:

Many of Dads bodily injuries are healed/healing and it is time for him to move on to the next phase of his recovery. He is transferring to Touro rehab in New Orleans for inpatient therapy. There he will work with a team of therapists. At this point we don’t know for how long. All signs point to a full recovery, but time will tell. We do know that his sense of humor and determination remain.

It is good that he still has his sense of humor…which really does help in times like these. God bless!

We have been touching base with your mom every day since the accident, and are so encouraged at Wes’s recovery, no matter how slow it comes. He is so dear to the hearts of so many. He has been such an encourager and behind-the-scenes facilitator for countless people and special projects. But that’s not why we love him…it’s because of the consistently motivated big heart that has blessed us all. And, I think we must include that quirky sense of humor and pragmatic observations of life. We hold your family in our hearts and lift you up to The Lord, thanking Him for preserving and healing. Much love!!❤️

Tell Wesley his neighbors are praying and pulling for him for a full recovery. With his spirit and determination, I know he will get through all of this. Gaye, take care of yourself too. As I well know, caregivers tend to put all their efforts in taking care of a loved one and neglecting themselves. I try to keep an eye on the house each day. If there is anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to ask. May God give you all the strength to face the challenges ahead.

Our son has been at Touro since 12/19…we are quite pleased with the care he is getting. He is on the 9th floor. Will go see him this weekend. Can you share what floor Wesley is on? Sure his love of life will be a positive factor in his rehab!! Elaine W.~classmate from DSHS
